Roosters get up EARLY and wake up to confidently get their day going!

One definition of wax is to GROW, as when a waxing moon appears to get fuller.

∴ Roosterwax means getting an early start and growing into being an architect.

But my mother said, “You can’t be an architect; you’re not any good at math.” Logically, I had to give up the idea of being an architect, but my desire did not go away.

Skipping ahead—it all worked out. In my 20s, I stopped listening to my mother. I enrolled in an architecture program and got an A in calculus.

I Started Roosterwax to Introduce Kids to Architecture

I have architecture degrees. While practicing architecture, I always regretted not exploring it when I was 11. It would have been fun to design and develop my skills at such an early age, and it would have changed my trajectory.

So, I started Roosterwax to support kids’ curiosity for design and to offer them resources to help them explore, grow, and develop projects.

Architecture Students Get a Head Start

Kids who start exploring architecture early are naturally better prepared when they apply to university architecture programs.

These students already have a solid understanding of how to design and produce architectural drawings, which allows them to apply their focus to other architecture studies.

Adults Develop Architectural Drawings and Get Permits

You may have an idea for a project you want to build but don’t know where to start.

I practiced architecture and land use planning for many years. With Roosterwax-Arch, I will show you how to develop architectural drawings and navigate permitting requirements.

For fun.

Lastly, it’s fun. Architecture is part creative and part puzzle. If you’re curious about what architects really do, you are in the right place!

Why I Make Art Projects Here

Yes, I make art projects here, but I’m not trying to be an artist. I have no plans to sell my art and have no art on my walls.
